13/04/09 - and the winner is...

...AloneMe!

So, the Great British public (a.k.a you lot!) voted AloneMe as 'Best Band' at this year's Panic Awards. Woohoo, thankyou!! There were some fantastic other acts in the running too so we were very surprised but equally thrilled to hear our name announced. The event on Thursday night gave us our first award-podium acceptance speech moment (first of many we hope!) and we now have a very tasty looking piece of glassware on the AloneMe HQ mantlepiece. We got to close the evening with a half hour set too which topped it all off nicely. Keep an ear out for BBC Essex Introducing & Saint FM interviews recorded on the night.

Huge thanks must go to each and every one of you who voted and please keep supporting us in this way. You may feel like just ticking a box or sending an email or telling a friend about us is a small thing to do but hopefully this goes to show that collectively you guys can make a MASSIVE difference to our success. Keep up the good work!

Soooooo much is happening at AloneMe HQ at the moment. All will be revealed a.s.a.p but in the meantime keep an eye on the websites, or even better, come and see us play live - Quay Theatre...Sudbury....this Saturday (18th April)...come and see the BEST BAND....in the world.....ever....it's official! (well, sort of)

16/03/09 - AloneMe join Twitter and a new (rather good!) review of Sketch...

Tweet Tweet! Yes, AloneMe have finally submitted to the lure of Twitter ! We admit to knowing very little about it and to not fully understanding what the fuss is all about yet but if it's as popular and addictive as people say it is then we want a piece of the action! (For those of you who are still none the wiser - Twitter is an online 'micro-blogging' site where friends, family, co-workers, strangers....anyone in fact can communicate and stay connected through the exchange of quick, frequent answers to one simple question: What are you doing?) We hope that Twitter will offer us a unique way to help you feel personally involved in the 'real' world of AloneMe - not just us onstage, and us in 'music promoting mode', but glimpses of what it's like to be on the AloneMe bus in the early hours on the way back from a gig, what it's like to be at AloneMe HQ working on that tricky middle 8 of a new song and what it's like when Dave finally gets round to being the one making the tea and if most importantly there are any HobNobs left!
